For founders Stanley Yeo and Kain Sim, family values have always been close to their heart. In fact, the name ZACD was derived from the first letters of the names of their two sons, Zachary and Darius. Moving forward, ZACD's corporate social responsibility efforts will carry a strong focus on promoting family values and helping underprivileged children, in line with the firm belief that a brighter future lies in nurturing our young.
As part of ZACD’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with TOUCH Community Services to recondition the homes of the less-privileged, the event, ZACD Home Improvement, was held on Thursday, September 22, with some 25 volunteers from ZACD Group, this time for the less-privileged elderly selected by TOUCH Senior Activity Centre (TSAC).
The homes of the less-privileged elderly were refurbished and furnished, thanks to the volunteers. Apart from improving the living conditions, ZACD strongly believes in supporting them through providing them with basic necessities and staple food. As such, each household received a S$100 NTUC voucher at the end of the event.
We hope our efforts can create a positive difference for these elderly!

As part of ZACD's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), ZACD partnered TOUCH Ubi Hostel, to organise a farm trip to Bollywood Veggies for individuals with mild intellectual disabilities. The event, ZACD Farm Trip was held on Saturday, September 16 with some 85 attendees. ZACD Farm Trip was divided into 3 segments – Guided Farm Tour, Pot-A-Plant Activity and Art with Nature – so that staffs and beneficiaries get a chance to learn about ecologically responsible decisions and lifestyles. We hope this serves as an encouragement for all to go green.

As part of ZACD’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), ZACD partnered TOUCH Community Services, to organise a treasure hunt for children, aged 6 – 12, with less privileged background, for a bonding session with their parent(s) at Singapore zoo. The event, ZACD Family Connects @ The Zoo, was held on Saturday, Nov 26 with some 96 attendees (61children and 35 parents) from TOUCH.
ZACD believes that nothing is more valuable in life than strong family connections. The treasure hunt is based on the story of a shipwreck on a tropical island, where 10 teams of “shipwrecked” participants go through challenges together and make decisions together as a family. Only by earning as many doubloons (gold coins) as possible can they hope to pay off the nasty old boatman and escape from the tropical island. At the end of the event, each family received at least a S$100 NTUC voucher contributed by our staff, a takeaway goodie bag from our sponsors, Super Group, UIE Tupperware, Guangdong Import & Export and Ben’s cookies. We hope this serves as an encouragement to build closer bonds with their children.

As part of ZACD’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, it has become a Christmas tradition for staff at ZACD and SLP, to share the joy of giving by helping someone in need fulfil the Xmas wishes of their loved ones.
This year, ZACD was happy to be working with Focus on the Family (Singapore) https://www.family.org.sg/
Focus on the Family Singapore Limited is a donor-supported Institution of Public Character (IPC) dedicated to helping families thrive. They believe the family unit is the basic building block of a thriving nation.
They partner individuals and organizations to strengthen family relationships through differentiated programs, trusted resources, family counselling and content placement in various media.
One of the programs they run is called “Date with Dad”, where fathers are given the opportunity to participate in their daughter’s rite of passage growing up. It consists of fun-bonding activities, opportunities for meaningful conversations and interactions.
This year, Focus ran a special session for Dads in prison. In preparation for the event, the inmates attended a 12 hour Parenting with Confidence workshop across four weeks to equip them with practical parenting skills and principles. Their daughters also attended a briefing to prepare them mentally and emotionally for the event.
ZACD staff helped these inmates, who do not have the capacity to buy gifts, by donating the Xmas gifts that they would like to give to their spouses and children. A total of 70 gifts were donated.
The gift giving event was held on Dec 12th, 2015 at the Focus office in Bishan. Kain Sim, Group Chairman of ZACD, was in attendance as the VIP guest to present the gifts to the families.
ZACD would like to thank all staff who participated in this CSR activity and helped make this Xmas a heart-warming and meaningful one for these families of Prison Dads.
In June 2014, ZACD sent a team of 8 volunteers to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where we volunteered in The Slum Ministry, schools and orphanages, bringing joy and laughter to the very poor and needy children. Other than spending time with the children, we enhanced our outreach footprints by donating food, schoolbags and stationeries to the communities.
ZACD raised $12,000 towards an emergency relief effort (WeCare Pack), a campaign which was launched as a response to the haze crisis Singapore faced the year before. The proceeds contributed to helping 400 needy individuals in Tampines North.
ZACD visited Nha Trang, Vietnam, and hosted a buffet dinner for a group of no fewer than 100 orphans, which was a huge delight to the children as that was the first buffet meal they have had. Subsequently, the team visited 2 more orphanages where electrical appliances and food were donated.
For Christmas 2013, ZACD engaged The New Charis Mission for our annual festive event – the Christmas Wish List, bringing the essence of Christmas giving, sharing and love to the organization by granting the Christmas wishes of the underprivileged for the third time running.
ZACD teamed up with youth volunteers from Eastview Secondary School and Dunman Secondary School to visit 36 households, refurbishing their homes by repainting old and stained walls. In doing so, we helped to improve their living conditions, making the home environments more sanitary.
ZACD staff once again embarked on our annual Christmas festive activity,
this time round bringing the essence of Christmas giving, sharing and
love to Singapore’s East region, where we fulfilled the wishes of the
underprivileged from Simei Care Centre through ZACD’s
second-year-running Christmas Tree Wish List.
In a bid to raise funds for Vincent, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on 25th October 2012, ZACD created a fundraising initiative – Bags of Love. Staff members gathered used branded bags for an auction drive, the proceeds of which amounted to an impressive $33,753.
In a bid to help the less fortunate renovate their homes and in turn improve their lives, ZACD collaborated with Hong Kah North YEC to successfully refurbish the homes of 4 families. These needy families received new studying areas in their homes.
